Message from the Chairlady

Susan Muhwezi – Chairlady

The hospitality sector accounts for 90% of all employment and this has made UHOA a force to reckon with in Uganda. It also gives me great pleasure to note that of the 3,800 hotels in Uganda, 95% are privately owned of which 86% are Ugandan owned. It gives me greathonour to lead a sector that is driven by some of the most patriotic ladies and gentlemen in Uganda
During the course of the years, we have also seen the opening up of international big-name brand hotels in Uganda, most notably the Hilton Hotel, Onomo Hotels, Hilton Garden Inn, Marriot Hotels, Latitude Hotels, all of which are members of UHOA. This comes with a lot of benefits for our country in terms of tax collection as well as employment of the youth. Also, this is an endorsement of the international business community and a sign of investor confidence that Uganda is officially open for business.

We encourage many hotel investors to come and join us here in the Pearl of Africa. Our country offers a very conducive business environm
